The Francis Hotel in Bath is set to become the second MGallery hotel to open in the UK and it’s the first outside of London.
Located within walking distance of Bath’s major attractions – Roman Baths, Pump Room and Thermae Spa – the historic Francis Hotel in Queen Square is undergoing a spectacular £6 million refurbishment to restore it to its former glory. It will open again to the public on 28 May this year as Francis Hotel Bath and as a member of the MGallery collection by Accor, a selection of memorable high-end hotels.
The MGallery Collection from Accor was launched in 2008 and today encompasses almost 50 hotels in 18 countries around the world. Each unique hotel tells its own individual story which guests experience through the hotel’s striking architectural features, interior design, atmosphere and service.
When the hotel launches again in May, following a six-month intensive refurbishment, it will boast 98 individually styled bedrooms, a sumptuous lounge and separate bar, as well as a snug, front parlour and breakfast room, all finished with an eclectic yet elegant mix of traditional and contemporary furnishings to reflect the hotel’s distinctive personality. The hotel’s transformation into Bath’s unique Regency townhouse hotel will coincide with the much-anticipated launch of Brasserie Blanc (the latest addition to Raymond Blanc’s successful group of brasseries), which will adjoin the hotel and welcome both guests and the general public.
Karen Bassett, Francis Hotel Manager, said: “We’re very excited about the refurbishment and look forward to welcoming guests to experience our beautiful new hotel. MGallery hotels are renowned for their quality, unique attention to detail and stand-out memorable features. It’s fantastic that Francis Hotel is being honoured in this way and being brought back to the impeccable standard of its heyday. The hotel is an iconic local landmark and we are sure that the people of Bath will be thrilled by its transformation.”
