Community group, Peasedown 1st, will be holding their next community clean up this Saturday in Peasedown St John.

Following requests from residents in Ashgrove and Keels Hill, members of Peasedown 1st, which was set up in 2010 to promote social cohesion and bring the community together, will be clearing litter in these two streets.

Peasedown 1st spokesperson Becci McCafferty said: “Peasedown 1st believes very strongly in community action and working with residents to help them make a difference in their village. Throughout 2013 we shall be out on a regular basis leading community clean up events, and encouraging others to join us.”

The community clean up follows a successful event held in Frederick Avenue in January where more than ten bags of rubbish were collected.

The Peasedown Community Clean-Up will start at 11am on Saturday 23rd February at the top of Keels Hill.

Anyone who’d like to come should bring gloves and any protective clothing they may want to wear. Peasedown 1st will provide the litter pickers and rubbish sacks.
