Temporary traffic lights and lane closures will be in place overnight on the A4 Bath Road in Saltford later this month to allow for road improvements.
Sections of the road between the Co-operative filling station and Grange Road will be resurfaced from Monday, 22nd February, for up to one week.
Bath & North East Somerset Council’s contractor Skanska will be carrying out the work between 7pm and 7am to minimise traffic disruption.
Councillor Anthony Clarke (Conservative, Lansdown), Cabinet Member for Transport, said: “The A4 in Saltford is a major commuter route in and out of Bath and needs to be properly maintained.
“But we need to ensure that the essential improvement works does as little as possible to interfere with traffic movements.
“I am delighted, therefore, that this important set of works can go ahead at a time that will cause minimal disruption to those using the road.”
Information signs will be in place and bus operators have been informed to allow them to adjust services if necessary.
The Council is working with residents to provide access to properties and apologises for any inconvenience caused by these essential works.
