The Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust (RUH) is looking at the maternity services they provide, to make sure they are getting it right for women and families, both now and in the future.
Over 4,800 babies are born every year via the RUH’s maternity services, either at the Bath Birthing Centre at the RUH’s Combe Park site, Birth Centres in Chippenham, Frome, Paulton and Trowbridge Birth or at home.
Amanda Gell, Senior Midwifery Matron at the RUH said: “We know choosing where to have your baby is a big decision and our aim is that all women and families in our care have a positive birth experience.
“To help us in our planning for the future we want to understand what matters most to those who use our services. We’re really keen to hear from as many people as possible.”
The Trust is holding friendly, informal discussion groups on:
- Monday 27th February 2017, 1-3.30pm – Victoria Hall, Church Street, Radstock BA3 3QG
- Tuesday 7th March 2017, 1-3.30pm – Assembly Hall, Market Place, Melksham SN12 6ES
Women and families who have used the RUH’s maternity services, as well as individuals or groups who have a special interest in pregnancy, birth and postnatal care are welcome to attend.
Babies and young children are welcome, however cre?che facilities are not available. Please contact [email protected] to book a space.
An online survey is available for those unable to attend a group session via www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/Maternitytogether or you can share your views via email to [email protected].
Amanda concluded: “It’s really early days in the process, but we have a great opportunity to take a fresh look at what we are offering. We are committed to providing high quality care, provided by the right combination of staff in an appropriate environment and we need your help to understand what this could look like for the mothers and families we support.”
