With less than one week to go until the closing date for the Public Governor nomination deadline (5th September), the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust is urging anyone interested to register their interest.
There are five Public Governor vacancies across: City of Bath, North East Somerset, Mendip, North Wiltshire and South Wiltshire.
Brian Stables, Trust Chairman said: “There’s still time for people to put themselves forward for the role of Public Governor. All they need to do is request a nomination form from the Electoral Reform Services on 020 8889 9203.
“We’ve had a lot of interest so far, but we won’t know how many people have put their name forward until after the closing date.”
“I would also like to remind anyone interested in standing that they need to be a member to put their name forward. It’s really easy to sign up; just visit our website or contact our membership team; it will take less than five minutes.”
After 5th September, the closing date, the nominated candidates will be published on the RUH’s website and members will be able to vote for their preferred candidate from Tuesday 27th September.
Brian continued: “Becoming a Public Governor is a great opportunity to make a contribution to the continuing development of the RUH and its role within our local communities.
“If you’re successful and are elected as a Public Governor, you’ll help shape our services over the next three years by representing members’ views and ensuring they are fed back to the Board of Directors.”
A handbook on the role of a Public Governor is available for anyone interested in standing for the elections.
Copies can be requested via the Membership office.
