After taking part in the Holburne Museum’s lantern workshop last week, Year 7 pupils from King Edward’s School joined in with the recent lantern procession, accompanied by their art teacher, Mr Willison.
Holding aloft their lantern trees, part of this year’s ‘Enchanted Forest’ theme, it made for a spectacular sight.
Talented artists from Year 7 at King Edward’s School spent a day at the Holburne Museum last Tuesday, learning to make willow lanterns with the help of local artist, Mary Caron-Courtney.
The resulting lanterns were used in the museum’s lantern procession on 19th November, when a group from KES joined the parade.
King Edward’s is one of a number of Bath schools that took part in the Holburne’s workshops to create lanterns for the spectacular annual event.
The theme this year was ‘The Enchanted Forest’ with lanterns shaped as birds, beasts, trees and mythical creatures.
During their workshop, Year 7 were charged with making tree-shaped lanterns, many of which took on a suitably festive theme, topped with stars.
