Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for witnesses after a 19-year-old man was left needing hospital treatment following an attempted robbery in Bath.
It happened at about 7.40pm on Monday 24th October in Westgate Street in central Bath.
Officers were called by witnesses who reported seeing a man assaulted by a group of youths who tried to take his wallet and bicycle.
The 19-year-old from Bath was taken to the Royal United Hospital for treatment to a head injury.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested in nearby Milk Street shortly after the incident on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and robbery.
Neighbourhood Inspector Adrian Fallows said: “I would like to thank all the people who came to help the injured man and who have contacted us as witnesses to this incident.
“Your actions go to show how the people of Bath are willing to play their part and support us in keeping the city safe.”
