The body of a man found in the River Avon in Bath on Saturday 26th November has been formally identified as 19-year-old Henry Burke, who went missing during a night out last week.
Henry, from Ripon in North Yorkshire but who grew up in Buckinghamshire, was found in the stretch of the river off Old Orchard on Saturday.
A post-mortem examination has confirmed the cause of his death as drowning.
Henry’s death continues to be treated as unexplained by police, but they do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances.
Officers are carrying out further enquiries on behalf of the Coroner’s office.
Avon and Somerset Police said: “Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.”
Henry’s family paid tribute earlier this week, saying: “Henry was a star that burned so bright in our lives. His passing has yet to sink in however, the pain of his parting cannot be expressed.”
