The countdown to the 2017 Dorothy House Bubble Rush started last Wednesday, 12th April, with a free, drop-in taster event and a special visit from a bubble cannon to Queen Square in Bath.
On the sunny afternoon, lots of local families, children and even visiting tourists went and played in the frothy bubbles for free and Bubble Rush t-shirts were given away to all those who took part.
Over a thousand people have signed up to take part in Dorothy House Hospice Care’s frothiest fundraiser, the Bubble Rush 5k fun run on Sunday 25th June and entries are still open.
The Bubble Rush will take place at Castle Combe Circuit near Chippenham and entries are open at www.dottybubblerush.org.
Entrants will embark on a 5km run, walk, skip or dance along a route filled with huge clouds of rainbow-coloured foam.
The Bubble Village will be party-central with a pre-event warm up routine, live entertainment, children’s activities and lots of food and drink stalls, so there’s fun for participants and spectators alike.
There are no age restrictions and the route is child-friendly. The circuit is suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs and prams. It’s not a race; the aim is for everyone to pass the finish line frothy and smiling.
There will be three waves, the 12pm wave is now sold out but the 1pm and 2pm waves are available and registration starts at 11am at Castle Combe Circuit.
Early bird places are sold out but standard price places are available now.
Entry for children aged 16 and under costs £10 and adults (aged 17+) cost £25.
All paying participants will receive a T-shirt and medal. There is no minimum sponsorship amount but participants are encouraged to raise as much as they can for Dorothy House Hospice Care to help fund vital patient care.
The Hospice provides free palliative and end of life care from early diagnosis onwards to patients, their families and carers across Bath and North East Somerset (BaNES), Wiltshire and Somerset.
Emily Knight, Events Fundraiser at Dorothy House Hospice Care said: “We are so excited about this fun run event for all the family. After 1,400 runners took part in our first Bubble Rush last Summer, we can’t wait to see even more people get involved this year and having some fun while raising money for Dorothy House Hospice Care. Remember to book your place soon!”
