Abbey Chambers, the building currently occupied by Visit Bath overlooking Kingston Parade, is to be taken on by Bath Abbey as part of the Footprint project, who have exciting plans for the space.
Visit Bath has confirmed their move of the Visitor Information Centre from Abbey Chambers to Bridgwater House, Terrace Walk at the end of September.
The Visitor Information Centre, one of the busiest in the country, provides advice, tickets and information on Bath and the surrounding area.
The new location on Terrace Walk is ideally situated to welcome in bus and coach tours and visitors to the city and will be open six days a week October – February and seven days a week February – September.
David James, Chief Executive of Visit Bath explained: “We are really looking forward to this new development for the business and the exciting times ahead this move reflects.
“The sleek design of the new space will allow us to become more digitally interactive and offer an enhanced online retail, ticketing and tours service. Bath Box Office will have a significant presence within the centre now we have joined up with Bath Festivals.”
“We will also continue to sell local products from businesses such as Bath Gin, Alice Tate, Richard Briggs and Blockhouse Bath – supporting local businesses is extremely important to us.”
New facilities will include touch screens and marketing opportunities for Visit Bath members. Visit Bath’s back office will also be moving to a new site on Stall Street, potentially in October.
