Bath is one of the stars of a new advertising campaign showing how easy it is to travel from the UK to Europe by rail, which will appear in trains on the London Underground from 25th April.
The campaign by Loco2, the search engine for train tickets, will highlight the ease of booking journeys within the UK and to Europe by rail, partnering the historic city with Berlin as one of four featured journeys.
The campaign also highlights the fact that Loco2 is the only place where it’s possible to buy train tickets from any UK railway station to Europe in a single booking.
Loco2 picked Bath to Berlin because it’s an easy journey via London, taking about 12 hours 30 minutes, with London Saver tickets available for the London-Berlin section from just £50 one-way.
Travelling with GWR, Eurostar and high-speed ICE trains, the route offers passengers views of a great sweep of Europe through the window along the way.
Although a long day of travel, it’s surprisingly straightforward to get from Bath to Berlin by rail, thanks to high-speed trains and convenient connections.
“At least one of our featured routes had to include a trip with Great Western Railway,” said Kate Andrews, co-founder of Loco2.
“I grew up near this railway line, along with Jamie, my brother and co-founder of Loco2, plus GWR’s network of tunnels, bridges and viaducts by Isambard Kingdom Brunel remain symbolic of the great British history of railway engineering.”
Useful information about the journey and the destinations it connects appear in Loco2’s new guides to Bath, Berlin and the Bath to Berlin route.
Tickets from Bath to Berlin cost from £64.50 one-way in Standard Class.
Loco2’s ad campaign accompanies the launch of a new look for the brand and an iPhone app, available on the App Store from 25th April.
